Design and Technology, like all other subjects, are important to learn about. When scientists think about designing an experiment, or making a new product in business, they think in the same way. Studying a lot of different subjects helps you understand more and become a better scientist.

Design tehcnology is the best balance between maths/science (tech) and art (design). It lets you learn about how and why things work, and design things to work better! It’s important for all scientists to have this skill!

If taken with science subjects yes – especially of you are into designing new machines and equipment

Yes, DT could be a really good subject. As Stephen said, it can combine really well with other science subjects.

Another thing I’d like to say is that just because a subject doesn’t seem to direct link to science, doesn’t mean it won’t be useful! It might help you to enjoy science more if you have some other subjects to contrast it. Improving your writing skills in english might help you to explain scientific concepts better. You never know where something might help! Studying science subjects at school are definitely the most important ones if you want to become a scientist, but some non-science subjects you also enjoy are great too.
