      Countries which are on top of the joins between tectonic plates (pieces of the Earths crust which fit together like a jigsaw puzzle) are the places which are most likely to have earthquakes. Sometimes though if an earthquake is very big, it can be felt in countries nearby to the original source (called an epicentre) of the earthquake
