I think you mean if we run out of space for humans on the Earth? I think with the increasing number of humans on the Earth we are likely to come across other problems before we run out of space! This will be things like providing food, water and healthcare to many more people.
By the time the population grows to an extent that the planet can no longer support world governments will have three options
1. Strict population control – never popular or fair
2. Undersea colonies – better read Jules Vernes 20,000 leagues under the sea – way ahead of his time
3. Off world colonies
with larger population size, it’s quite likely that problems will come from really busy, dirty cities. Managing to provide everyone with clean water and enough food will be difficult because we won’t have enough land to grow food. We will need to get special crops that deal with more intense farming. Electricity will be a problem because you would need lots of electricity in smaller areas as more people move to cities. That’s very difficult when you want to move to renewable rather than fossil fuels!
