In 30 years time (2048) our population would have doubled, and the land available for farming would have decreased as a consequence of climate change. We’ll need to feed far more people with less farmland. Therefore we need smarter farmers in the future to tackle this.

Lots of things, as Chris said, we need to be clever about how we will feed, house, and provide healthcare to all these extra people. It will have to be a team effort from lots of different people coordinating all of this!

I hope common sense will prevail and as nations and people become wealthier and better educated population growth will reach an equilibrium. If not we could be looking at major disruptions in our lives as we know them as nations fight to control the water, food and energy that their people need.

In some ways it is already over populated. What will happen next depends on how wise we are, if we learn to share resources and care for each other then we will find solutions. If we don’t, then wars and resource (food and water) driven conflict will increase. I hope it doesn’t come to this.

This question has been answered really well. Study after study has shown that the best way to slow over-population is actualy by educating women and girls. This helps because it lets girls get into jobs, marry later, empowers them to say no to big families, and learn about things like birth control. So the most important way to stop overpopulation is to get girls into school!
