      No, it’s unlikely unless we find another form of very powerful energy. The power of nature is very hard to equal.

      I can’t imagine forcefields that would be strong enough to protect us from storms, certainly not ones that wouldn’t cause lots of problems for everyone outside the forcefield! A more likely thing would be smarter houses and cities that are built to withstand storms, maybe they could use machine learning to change certain shapes of building to deflect the winds and floods in safer directions? There is lots of research needed in how to survive extreme weather!

      Maybe – many of things we have seen in science fiction films do become reality with time – it will be all about how do we create and manage the energy to drive a force field in a sustainable manner

      I’m really not sure! If we end up having the capability to make those, maybe. But we would have to understand what nature is capable of first.

      Even if we could develop this technology, its unlikely that we could develop it in time to help

      Nothing more for me to add here, apart from saying although we’re probably very far away scientifically from being able to make a forcefield, it would be super cool!
