I love this question! I think science in nature (which scientists often call environmental science) is really important for lots of reasons. Its important to do environmental science so that we can learn about our planet and preserve important habitats. Environmental science is also really linked with climate change and can help us understand what our planet will be like in the future. Finally- I think its really interesting, which is a good enough reason in itself!

i think all science is important. But the good thing about science in nature is that it helps us learn more about how to look after our planet, which some would argue is the most important thing of all!

Yes, science is very important to develop new technologies and services. We are lucky that science and research in the UK is world leading, with many excellent universities. Experts at universities produce a lot of the knowledge that is used by companies. I use a lot of knowledge from university experts to make better weather forecasts and have discovered many new ways to solve problems. At the moment I am talking with lots of weather experts and a climate expert at the University of Nottingham.
