all science should be openly shared. it’s sad if it stays locked away in a lab or a PhD thesis 🙁 plus it’s nice to tell other scientists and the public about what we do to break down barriers and change perceptions in science 🙂

Yes. I think that getting people to know what scientists do, and what I do, is very important. When we discover great things we need to tell people about it so that we can inspire others to become interested. They can even help us achieve more when they hear about our work.

If a scientist was to answer no to this question I would be a bit worried about what they are studying!

I think part of learning is sharing what you know with other people, otherwise what you’ve studied doesn’t really mean anything!

Luckily because I publish the work I do in scientific journals my science colleagues know what I do.. At the same time I blog and tweet about the work we do to wider audiences, and work with both radio and TV to make programmes about out work.

The same as all the other scientists- Yes!! I would love it if people knew more about it as well. It makes me sad when people don’t understand climate change because it is a really important thing that everyone should know about. Fungi are also really understudied and I would love it if there were more fungi-nerds like me!
