I have always been interested in science. I was probably about 16 when I decided to become a scientist in my career, but I wasn’t quite sure about what type of scientist. I would say its very important speaking to other people and getting to know about different jobs before making these decisions.

I always liked science but never wanted to be a “scientist” because I didn’t like lab coats and explosions! Luckily being a scientist isn’t just about lab work, it’s about researching topics that you find interesting! I find physics interesting and have a passion for renewable energy so I can now be a scientist in an area I really enjoy!

I think I started becoming interested in science as a teenager, but I knew I actually wanted to be a scientist during my masters (so only about 18 months ago!)
