My Wife, me and my son have lived in Rome since September 2014 – we feel at home as Rome is the closest capital city in Europe to Africa, both geographically and culturally. My daughter finally left home after boomerang back twice between degrees to start a PhD at Imperial college London. Before Rome we lived in Nairobi, Kenya – nicknamed Nairobbery as crime is quite bade. But we enjoyed being able to live in a country where we could see Africa as it should be and visited many game parks. Prior to Nairobi we lived in Zimbabwe in Bulawayo for 9 years where we experienced hyper inflation – no food in the shops and trillion dollar notes – yest trillion dollars – we stopped counting money and weighed it when we found things to buy!

Me, my son and daughter are all enthusiastic scuba divers and over the years we have swam with turtles, dolphins and Whale sharks.

By studying hard at school I have been very lucky to have an exciting career in agricultural research and development
My Typical Day:

Now I work for the Unibted Nations my day revolves arounf emails, skype and watsap calls – a long way from when I worked directly with farmers in Africa.
What I'd do with the prize money:

Donate to my nephews school in MIlton Keynes where he teaches
