I think the most exciting project I’ve done is actually the one I’m working on at the moment. I work with Birmingham Institute of Forest Research which is a big experiment over in Staffordshire. In the forest there are big towers which pump out extra carbon dioxide ( a greenhouse gas) into the air to make the air like it will be in 50 years time due to climate change. This means that the trees (and all the other components of the forest!) are living in the future- its super cool! I research what effect the future climate will have on the fungi in the forest. Fungi includes mushrooms but also tiny micro-organisms that you can only see with a microscope.
